Henry Warren Smith (US1843spouse1)'s 15 May 1847 letter to his wife "Vi" (Elvira Lorrain Foster Smith (US1843)) can be read here.  He is in Cincinnati at the time and tells her he has been ordered to stay there for a while to organize military movement for that district.

THFFI member Alan Severance (US7041) transcribed the letter and the transcription is placed at the end of this file.  He also researched the name of "poor George" and reports his surname was Hutter.
