Creation of The Hungerford Family Foundation, Inc. (THFFI or the Foundation) was a collaborative effort by Richard W. Hungerford, Jr., Andre J. "A. J." Hungerford and Charles C. Morgan (the Founders and Initial Board of Trustees) during 2014.

The State of Florida has certified that the Foundation is a corporation organized under the laws of the State of Florida, filed on December 22, 2015.

The Internal Revenue Service issued a letter to the Foundation on December 25, 2015 stating that it is exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(3) effective December 16, 2014. The letter states further that donors can deduct contributions that they make to the Foundation under IRC Section 170. The Foundation also is qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devisees, transfers or gifts under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522.

A rough first website was launched during January, 2015. Experts in website development and design were hired in March, 2015 to build the site that you see here. The first version of this site was launched in August, 2015.

The Foundation was accepted into the Guild of One-Name Studies during June, 2015.
