The Doane Family, volumes I and II
Pertinent portions of this genealogy are included to show how Hungerford genealogist Gilbert Harry Doane (US8652) is not directly connected to the Hungerford family. Fellow Hungerford genealogist Stanley Wayne Hungerford (SH1310) thought he was connected via Zilpha Morilla Hungerford (SH287g) and even says as much in his notes placed against her entry. Gilbert did spend an inordinate amount of time researching the Hungerford family for the distant connection he had to the family--similar, but not exactly like, the Rev. Jackson in the mid 1800s. Gilbert's Hungerford papers are located in Boston at the New England Historic Genealogical Society's headquarters. Gilbert is connected to the Hungerford family through his mother Maud Charlotte Gilbert (US9822) who traces back to Eunice Hungerford (SH14c).
