Received 3 scans from editorial cartoon collector Warren Bernard (who had sold THFFI member Richard W. Hungerford Jr. (US26) several "Best of" Cyrus Cotton Hungerford (SH976) annual booklets) of these three rare booklet covers on 16 Dec 2020. This is what he said about them:

I took a few minutes to take a few photos of some rare Cy Hungerford publications you (may) not have seen before, Attached are photos of:

1. 1936 Best of Cartoons booklet, this is like 6" x 9" and says it is the 4th one, so these started in 1933. Up until I got this one a few years ago, I thought they started in 1945, which was the earliest one myself and another collector I know had ever seen.

2. 1940 special tabloid sized section to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, which focused on a review of the decade by Hungerford.

3. 1941 special tabloid sized section focusing on the rise of Hitler, Mussolini and to a lesser extent Stalin.

All three of these came out of a sale of WW2 era original Hungerford cartoons that appeared, in of all places, Etsy. Someone in the family sold these and the originals. A friend in England took the originals and I got these pieces, which I had never seen before.

Enjoy,
Warren
