Andre James (A. J.) Hungerford (US1189) received a letter dated 7 Jan 2008 from Orville Hungerford Mann Jr. (US5670). The contents of his communication to A. J. were three older letters--two from the 1950s and one from 1963. The first one was from Betty Stanley Seiple (US625) to Kenneth Walker Mann (US5669) with a date of 22 Mar 1954. Betty mentions exchanging letters with a Mr. Herbert Barker Hungerford (US118) and discusses her cousin Harriet Rosa Hungerford (SH257c)'s health issues.
The other 1950s letter, dated 14 Nov 1953, is from Harriet to Kenneth Walker Mann. Harriet discusses the first few generations of Thomas of Connecticut and mentions Betty and Hebert. The third letter is dated 20 Jul 1963 from a Kenneth Andrew Nagel and mentions Farleigh-Hungerford.
These letters show mid-20th century efforts to study the Hungerford genealogy from different branches of the American line.
