This is an odd letter. No envelope was used--it was folded in such a way as to be able to be addressed. I believe the Horace named as the intended recipient is SH226 who would be all of twelve years old. The letter was written by an individual with the surname Wording to Mary Hungerford. I believe the author is a female. The author starts off by stating she is well and that the recent letter sent by Mary was received by her. She goes on to share details of the goings-on in her neck of the woods, tells of several deaths in her locale, and alludes to some things and says Mary would understand if they were face-to-face. As she signs off she asks Mary to give Horace her love.
