Winifred Marjorie Wagner (née Williams; 23 June 1897 – 5 March 1980) was the English-born wife of Siegfried Wagner, the son of Richard Wagner, and ran the Bayreuth Festival after her husband's death in 1930 until the end of World War II in 1945. The letter written by Winifred is responding to a birthday card or letter sent by Bruce marking her 73rd birthday. Winifred goes on to express her concern and relief over Bruce's recovery from what might have been a career ending arm injury he suffered. Winifred then shares family concerns about her daughter Friedelind and is thrilled to announce to Bruce she is a great-grandmother of a little girl named Joy.
