This is a one page, hand written letter from May Hungerford (Bessie May (O'dell) Hungerford, IR185wife in the Surnames database) dated 1 May 1975 to Stanley W. Hungerford that is written on the reverse side of his original letter of inquiry.
May states that she married Francis Becher Somerville Hungerford in 1949, that he was born in England (probably Kent) in 1909, and that he passed on 21 September 1971. She provides some biographical information and indicates that his sister lives in England.
The letter is accompanied by a newspaper clipping from the 15 May 1972 issue of the Bath Evening Chronicle. The clipping features an article "Wellow is host to VIPs." The article states, in part: "Among the congregation were members of the Hungerford family...." There is a note int he margin pointing to those words, apparently written by May, to the effect "Me."
