Dear Jack,

I have only just learnt, from a paragraph in Truth, of your father's death last week.  I am very much grieved--for he was always most kind to me--and I feel the warmest sympathy for all of you in your great loss.  Toya and Olive in particular it will perhaps mean work, and I feel ___-deeply for you

both.  I am sure you will have a very sad and a very trying time.

I should very much like to hear what your plans for the immediate future are.  If there is any work or any arrangement which I could possible look after for you in town I should be so very glad to be

of any assistance--

With my deepest sympathy

Yours ever
