The transcription:

My dear Papa,

I quite forget whether I acknowledged the receipt of the money for which I am much obliged.

I do not think it will be enough for my journey, for I have a list of the fares and it is 26'6 first class to Gloucester, and I suppose the rest will be by coach as I can meet the one o'clock coach to Leominster.

give him a heavy book and I want to know if I may you will give me an order for one to give to the captain of my tutor's whom I like very much.  If you say I may, my tutor will give me a paper with my name and the book I want and the price and I take it to the bookseller and chose it.

The holidays are very near now and then I can tell you more than I can in letters.  With best love to all
I remain your affectionate son John H. Arkwright.
