A portion of a letter--the Post Script portion--that states:

Good night!  & believe me sincerely yours,

Henry Smith
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
P. S.  Continue to _____ as before.

Your kind remembrance my dear Evelina, gratified me, almost as much as Elvira's letter.--  For Heaven's sakes, keep your good resolutions.  Be as solid as Elvira, and as studious as anybody else.  You did right to give me what intelligence Elvira had omitted--continue to do so, and recollect I can judge by your style, how much you improved--Your friend & brother[-in-law?]

H. White

Evelina Foster

Louisville, Kentucky 30 Jan 1836

Note: This letter is confusing as to who Henry was addressing on the P.S.  Daughter?  Sister?  Sister-in-Law?
