Letter written to John Stanhope Arkwright offering condolences regarding the passing of his father.  The transcription:

25 May 1905
Eyton Hall, Leominster
(Ans[were]d 27th)

Dear Arkwright

We were deeply grieved to hear this day of your dear fathers death and at once write to assure you of our sympathy.  How greatly he will be missed by not only his relatives & friends but by the County & Country at large—I should much wish to pay the last tribute of respect and to be allowed to be present at the Church when the funeral takes place.  We were at Oxford together and old friends—with repeated assurances of sorrow & sympathy.

Believe me.
y[ou]rs very sincerely

R[everen]d Evans
