A letter written from J(ames) Williams to John Hungerford Arkwright.

Dear Commander,

I beg to inform you that I have had to have William Williams removed to the Workhouse Infirmary--by his own consult the reason, I was nightly afraid of his been burnt to Death & the home being burnt also, he was in such a fearful condition that he could do nothing but sit about the fireplace & that feeble he could scarcely move from there & the state of the place he was in which render the place deplorable he being in such a bad condition--my daughter offered to clean his place for him bc (because) he would never allow to do so.

Trusting you will think I have done what was most satisfactory ______ ____ all here.--
