John Stanhope Arkwright had possession of this letter for some reason.  Here is the transcription:

1 Oct 1912

Dear Lyndon,

Thanks for your letter. 

I am glad you had a nice trip via Canada.

Yes, we have had rather a tragic summer this year but the autumn is making some amends.

I think most of the farmers in this district, except the stockers, had got their corn quite well.

Of course it has been very much otherwise on the East Coast & some other places--

By all means over-draw your account a bit if you want to—with kind regards
