This note is part of the John Hungerford Arkwright correspondence collection. This one reads:
Conningsbys Hospital, Hereford. Jan 13th (18)92
Dear Commander,
I as Corporal return you many thanks on behalf of my bretheren (sic) and myself for the nice dinner provided by Mrs. Parry, we all enjoyed ourselves and spent a very plesent (sic) afternoon.
I also return you many thanks for the rabbits which we enjoyed much.
Also our best thanks to Mrs. Arkwright for the tea and sugar she so kindly sent us.
Hoping that you Commander and Mrs. Arkwright and family are well and I hope to God that you all will spend a happy New Year.
