Charlotte Lucy (Davenport) Arkwright got a letter from Susan H. Stephenson.    It says:

July 11, 1895.
The Chestnuts, Uxbridge

Dear Mrs. Arkwright.

I must congratulate you on your son's success at Oxford.  I saw his name in the paper but did not feel quite sure it was him till I saw Mrs. Dollaston Blake the day before yesterday.  You must all have been greatly excited.

I had a delightful three days at Oxford with one of my sisters, about six weeks ago.  What a beautiful old place it is!  I had only been there once before for a few hours.

I hope you are all keeping well.  My kindest remembrances to Mr. Arkwright & your daughters, too.  Suppose you have two out now.  How does the music get on!

Yours affectionately,

Susan H. Stephenson
