My darling Lucy,
Warmest congrats on Jack's success (?). What a splendid thing to be the winner of the Newdigate! ! I am most delighted & proud of my nephew & so we all shall be: Quite a feather in the family cap!!
I did not answer your last letter darling, as I could not give the notes; & I thought you would understand.
How lovely this gardening weather is - it is perfect joy to see the trees coming out, especially (here) the new ones that we planted last autumn.
By the bye Courthope & I are rather coming to the conclusion that we ought to give 2 pounds towards ____ _____ _____ if Carie agrees. (I have told her.)
It is nice to feel Fanny & Richard & Lizie on there way home. I hope the latter has arrived by now.
Fond love my Lucy. Your loving Sister Mary. Give John 1000 congrats from all of us.
