This is the first quarter 2015 THFFI newsletter. The newsletter profiles Lord Walter Hungerford (1378-1449), the English Knight who fought with King Henry V at the Battle of Agincourt.
Lord Walter Hungerford was an English knight, Member of the House of Commons from 1400 to 1414, of which he became Speaker, then was an Admiral and peer. He was an English envoy at the Council of Constance in 1415, made Admiral of the Fleet in 1417, was an executor of Henry V’s will, and a member of Protector Gloucester’s council. He was a Member of the House of Lords (sitting as Baron Hungerford from January 1436 until his death in 1449).
The newsletter also profiles Orville Hungerford, the man who built the Hungerford mansion in Waterville, New York, USA. The newsletter discusses the THFFI objective of acquiring the Orville Hungerford mansion as a future research facility and repository of Hungerford memorabilia.
