This list is "Incumbents of Teffont Evias." It is a list taken from the Teffont Village History Scrap Book compiled by the Teffont Womens Institute 1956 ©Wiltshire OPC Project/2014/Marion Swindells. Refer to The Hungerford World Tree, the THFFI Newsletter, Volume II, Number 4 for the Fourth Quarter, 2016, where you will find a thorough-going analysis and discussion of this list.

Teffont Evias (also Teffont Ewyas, past alternative spellings including Tevont Evias) is a small village and former civil parish in the south of Wiltshire, England. The ancient parish of Teffont Evias formed part of the Dunworth hundred of Wiltshire. The manor of Teffont Evias was inherited by Walter Hungerford, 1st Baron Hungerford of Heytesbury in 1522 (he was attainted by act of parliament and executed in 1540 for treason, sorcery, and offences forbidden by the Buggery Act 1533).

It lists the years during which several Hungerfords resided in Teffont Evias along with their titles in each of those years:

1418: Wmi Hungerford (this person has not been identified as of the date of this writing (November 18, 2016)

1429: Walterus Hungerford, EN8 in the Surnames Database
1437, 1452, 1455, 1457, 1458: Robertus Hungerford, EN10 in the Surnames Database
1460, 1463, 1473, 1475: Margareta Hungerford, EN10wife in the Surnames Database
1486, 1489, 1493, 1498, 1504: apparently Walterus Hungerford, EN30 in the Surnames Database
