Henry Smith (US1843spouse1) wrote a letter to his wife Elvira (Foster) Smith on a letter dated Monday, September 2nd. The year was obtained by his mention of "Uncle" Orville (Hungerford - SH90) who was a congressman in 1844--but not before--and the context of the letter stated he was in Washington.
