Henry Warren Smith (US1843spouse1) wrote to his wife Elvira Lorrain (Foster) Smith (US1843) this letter dated 7 May that you can read here. The year is unknown. There are some hints. The letter says Monday, May 7th. Between Henry's life with Elvira from the years 1826 when they married and 1847 when he died - the years that would fit are 1827, 1832, and 1838. One of the sentences states Mrs. Capt. Noel of the 6th died. If that lady's date of death can be researched that may lead to an answer.
