Edward Hungerford (US495) was an authority on all things that had to do with railroads and wrote many books and articles. This letter is one of six found tucked inside the book he had just completed and signed for the recipient. Mary was his secretary and per his comments the most favorite one. He scolds her for not writing more frequently, tells of his wife visiting up in Watertown while he and his daughter stick it out in New York City, and mentions that he has 7 crutches and 7 pair of tinted glasses. Other bits and pieces of news are also included.
